For checking exactly what the SOHW-1693S reports, we used three different media, burned with other burners. The three media have been measured with the well known AudioDev SA300 DVD CATS system at 1X.

The drive is capable of reporting PI/PIF errors, so we will compare those measurements at 8X reading speed.

Please note that the posted results are only valid for the specific tested LiteON SOHW-1693S drive. Using other drives, even another SOHW-1693S, can produce totally different results. Be aware!

From the above graphs, we can see that the error line trend follows the same pattern as the original CATS scans although the levels are different.
