After our DVD-Reading sessions, we are now passing to the DVD-R Writing tests. For start we used a DataWrite 16X branded media. This media has TTH02 media ID code.

Getting the writing process started with OptiDriveControl, we found that the five first drives had more or less similar performance. The Pop-up (Optiarc AD-7560A) didn't recognized the media so got 0 score.

After the burn process, we tried to read the burned disc with the same drive and wrote down their average reading speed. The Effelon (TSSTcorp TS-L632M) didn't recognized the burned media but was readable to other drives even with very high error rates.

The highest reading speed came from three drives...nice results.

After many hours measuring all discs we have our burn quality results.

The drives with the lowest PIE/PIF error rates are expected to get higher score points even they burn slower a disc. After all we all want perfectly readable discs.

The first place came for two drives, the Rodzone A11-SU3 (HLDS GT50N) and the HLDS PortableDVD (HLDS GP96Y), both got 8.10 points weighted score.
