Freecom announces 16/10/40 CD-RW drive

Freecom announces 16/10/40 CD-RW drive

General Interest Jul 12,2001 0

"...The new high speed writer from Freecom writes CD-R's at 16x speed and overwrites CD-RW's at 10x speed; the 40x read speed of the CD writer is destined to satisfy even the most exacting requirements. The writer is available as an internal version for the PC or as an external version for both PC and Mac. The in-built Burnproof technology ensures that buffer underruns are a thing of the past when re/writing blank CD's with either the internal or external version.

The external version of the Classic 16x10x40x CD Writer offers the PC and Mac user a mobile and powerful storage solution with incredibly flexible applications. Freecom's ultra fast and mobile CD-RW writer is connected via a SCSI to either a PC or Mac and can boast both writing/re-writing functionality that ensures that the 16x10x40x is one of the fastest external writers available on the market today. The delivery includes the Roxio Easy CD Creator 4.0.3 and the Direct CD writing software packages for PC, or the Roxio Toast 4.0 software package for Mac applications. Also standard are a SCSI connection cable, a CD ROM, a CD marker pen and an operating manual.

The internal version of the Freecom Classic 16x10x40x Burnproof Writer also connects to a PC via a SCSI interface. As with the external version, the writing time for a standard 74 minute long (650MB) CD is reduced to a mere 4.5 minutes. As with the external drive version, the delivery includes the Roxio Easy CD Creator 4.0.3 and the Direct CD writing software packages for PC or the Roxio Toast 4.0 software package for Mac applications. A SCSI connection cable, a CD ROM, a CD marker pen and an operating manual are also part of the standard delivery items..." NULL
