The product comes with BSMI, CB, CCC, CE, cTUVus, CU, FCC, RCM, TÜV, UKCA certifications and OTP (over-temperature protection), OCP (over current protection), OPP (over-power protection), SCP (short circuit protection), OVP (over Voltage protection), UVP (Under Voltage protection), SIP (Surge & Inrush Protection) features and includes Energy Star 8.0, ErP, WEEE, RoHS and Triman Environmental directives.

The retail package is much bigger than what we have seen with other be quiet! power supplies and includes the "high-end" logo in the left area. All Dark power 13 series power supplies come with 10 years of warranty and the 750watt variant can be found at $209.90 / €214.90 / £209.99, making it one the highest priced 750-watt PSU at the market.

Opening the package unveils its contents, which are secured and with much better foam/protection from others be quiet! power supply series.

The PSU dimensions are (without cables) 175 x 150 x 86 (L x W x D), (mm), and its weight is 1.96 kg, making it heavier and bigger than other power supplies, however still fits at most midi/big cases.

The used fan at the Dark Power 13 series comes from be quiet! and according to the specifications is a specially silence-optimized fan with 135mm size, FDB bearing technology, and a 6-pole fan motor. Its maximum speed is 2100rpm and even at 100% load the sound pressure (noise) it produces reaches 18.8dB(A), making it almost silence

The back of the PSU includes a honeycomb design to help transfer the produced internal heat from the PSU. You will also find the power/on-off switch.

The retail package includes a separate box

that includes all the accessories: thumb screws, Screws, Cable ties, Velcro cable ties, an OCK slot bracket with switch / OCK jumper, and a printed manual in 10 languages (DE, EN, ES, FR, PL, RU, TW, CN, JP, KC)

The main connectors of the PSU are displayed below

The PSU is designed with modular cables in mind and has two types a sleeved cable (20+4pin) and the rest are flat cable. The maximum cable length is 105cm (SATA+PATA cables), while the 20+4 motherboard cable is 60cm, which should be enough even for big-sized cases. Below is a chart with all included cables and their corresponding lengths. We would like to have a slightly longer distance between SATA and PATA cables of 200mm.

Included you will find 12 cables as follows and note there isn't any floppy cable (who uses it anyway...).

  • 1x ATX-Motherboard (20+4-pin)
  • 1x P4+4 (CPU)
  • 1x P8 (CPU)
  • 1x P4 (CPU)
  • 1x 600watt 12VHPWR cable /
  • 4x PCI-e 6+2-pin (GPU)
  • 12x SATA
  • 3x PATA

There is also an add-on bracket PCI card that enables/disable "overclocking" of the power supply. The overclocking key gives you manual control switching between the default four 12V-rail modes and the alternative massive single-rail operation. This may be found handy to overclockers or power users. Note that you can enable the overclocking function permanently by setting the jumper provided directly at the power supply, or you can enable the overclocking function by pressing the switch on the slot cover as needed. All those functions should be performed when the power supply is OFF, or else you might cause failure to the power supply.

be quiet! is proud of its internal design and they use only top components for its Dark Power 13 series, high-quality Japanese capacitors which are rated up to 105°C ensuring stability, reliability, and long operating life.

The Dark Power 13 series are rated 80 PLUS Titanium, meaning you should expect around 95.8% efficiency at full 230V, and according to the be quiet! measurements the 750W variant reaches 93.8%, which covers this standard.

The output total 750W is separated into four 12V rails (or a single +12V rail if you use overclocking mode), which according to be quiet! should cover you even in high loads and scenarios, like using the latest Intel/AMD processors with the Nvidia RTX4000 series and AMD RX7000 series. The specifications indicate

  • +3.3V (A) => 22Α
  • +5V (A) => 22Α
  • +12V1 (A) => 25Α
  • +12V2 (A) => 25Α
  • +12V3 (A) => 30A
  • +12V4 (A) => 30A
  • -12V (A) => 0.5Α
  • +5Vsb (A) => 3Α

The max. combined power 12V is 744W, while the max. combined power 3.3V+ 5V is 100watt.

be quiet! offers an online psu calculator, which can help you estimate, which power supply you want for your system. For example, building a new system with somewhat advanced-power computer parts can take up to 714 watts, in that case, the Dark Power 13 750watt isn't enough so the online calculator, advises you to get the highest possible model, the 1000watt series for the following configuration.

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 7900
  • GPU: Radeon RX 7900 XT
  • Drives: S-ATA 2x, P-ATA 1x
  • M.2 SSD: 3x
  • RAM: 2x
  • Fans: 3x
  • Water cooling: 1x Pump, 1x Fan
  • USB 3.1 Gen. 2: Yes
  • Overclocked: CPU: 10%, GPU: 0%

The included cable for ATX3.0-enabled graphic cards is rated up to 450 watts, which is a smart move from being quiet! since 750watts cannot support the high RTX4090 card series with the latest Intel 13th gen or AMD Ryzen processors.
