New Pioneer BDR-S09J-X BD Is Optimized For Audio Playback

New Pioneer BDR-S09J-X BD Is Optimized For Audio Playback

Optical Storage Jan 8,2015 0

Pioneer remains committed to the optical disc drive technology and has just announced the release of the BDR-S09J-X BD burner, a drive designed to offer reliable audio CD playback and of course disc burning features. Available later this month in Japan for about 33,000 yen ($277.5), the internal SATS drive features a playback quality check function for audio CDs (CD-DA). Users are able to run a short or full check of an inserted audio CD in order to determine the appropriate settings that should be applied for accurate audio playback.

For instance, if any dirt or scratches on the disk surface make the reading of the audio CD unreliable, the "PureRead 3" function can be selected in order the drive to dynamically adjust its optical playback settings through the use of a special algorithm.

In addition, the "RealTime PureRead" function is able to minimize the occurrence of compensation methods such as interpolation or data substitution by judging the condition of the disc in real time.  By readjusting the reading method, the drive will retry to read the original sound data as much as possible.

In addition, BDR-S09J-X uses a low-resistance flat cable and Mekkineji type connectors to reduce noise during recording and reproduction of signals.

Anti-vibration mechanisms are also used to reduce the vibration during disk rotation. The anti-vibration performance has been further improved by using a solid material for the drive's disc tray.

A special coating in the interior and exterior of the drive's case also helps limiting any irregular reflection of the drive's laser beam and also enhances the heat dissipation.

Besides those features, the BDR-S09J-X is a fast BD/DVD/CD burner. It burns BD-R SL at 16x, BD-R DL at 14x, BD-R TL at 8x, BD-R QL at 6x, DVDR at 16x and CD-R at 40x.
