Philips and Yahoo!announced a global partnering deal to jointly develop and deliver Yahoo! content and Internet services through Philips’ Streamium Internet-enabled Home Entertainment devices for consumers. Delivered by broadband Internet connections on Philips Streamium devices, a wide range of personalized Yahoo! entertainment and information services will be extended beyond the PC and throughout the home, where consumers can enjoy interacting with them on their television sets and home entertainment systems.

The Philips – Yahoo! deal, announced at a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show, will focus on the ongoing development and integration of new and enhanced services for consumer electronic devices.

Services Moving Beyond the PC

Philips and Yahoo! are already offering Yahoo!’s LAUNCHcast Internet Radio to Streamium MC-i200 and MC-i250 customers. A wide array of Yahoo! services including on-demand music videos, movie trailers and clips and photo services will be launched together with the Streamium range extension in Spring 2004.

Both Philips and Yahoo! will continue with active service development throughout the term of the multi-year agreement, as well as implement an online and offline marketing program to promote the services globally to consumers.
