BestDisc, an independent DVD manufacturer in Asia, recently opened a new facility in Taiwan focusing on BD-ROM, both single and dual layer, and equipped with quality control systems from DaTARIUS. Mastering , galvanic and replication lines were installed and optimized earlier this year and, to help control and fine-tune their manufacturing process, BestDisc has chosen the DaTABANK solution equipped with a BD driveCube, along with the CoverTest stamper testing technology developed by DaTARIUS.

"Although BD is not yet on the weekly shopping list for consumers worldwide, the market penetration improves virtually on a daily basis, and we are confident that BD will lead high definition optical media."

BestDisc BD discs passed the quality verification by Sony’s Blue-ray Test Centre in early September.
