The latest EliteXStream series from OCZ Technology has a different internal design, compared with other families of PSUs such as the well known ModXStream series. The PSU's single rail design handled without any problems dual SLI configurations and as OCZ advertises, it can also sufficiently power Quad SLI configurations. Adding more devices, like HDD, optical storage devices, etc.. should cause no problem to this product. We liked the fact that its cables are long and that the included fan doesn't product any noise. The 80+ standard certification is welcomed and the 5 years of PowerSwap replacement program warranty, gives you no more endless return-for-repair loops!

Overall, the EliteXStream 800W product kept its promises and we cannot find any serious drawbacks. If you need a new PSU for your overloaded game PC, you'd better start putting some money aside ($153.95 - $195.00) and head on over your local store.

- The Good

  • 800Watt output
  • Active PFC design
  • 5 years warranty replacement
  • Single rail design
  • Extra long cables!!
  • ATX v2.2 certified
  • Plenty of connectors
  • Very stable voltages under heavy load

- The Bad

  • No modular design (that could be a positive too)
  • IDE cables have no molex connector design
