DVD+R DL - Page 1

- Writing Tests

We burned two DVD+R DL discs with DVD-Video content. The source disc was "Gladiator Movie - Special Edition" disc1 with a total size of 6.86GB. First, we transferred the movie to the hard disc with DVD Decrypter in ISO format (single file). Afterwards, we used CopyToDVD v3.0.0.26.

  • Traxdata DL

The writing process was finished after 39:30 minutes. The average speed was 2.24X as reported by CopyToDVD software. The recorded disc had the DVD+R9 format booktype setting.

  • Verbatim DL

The writing process was finished after 38:56 minutes. The average speed was 2.28X as reported by CopyToDVD software. The recorded disc had the DVD+R9 format booktype setting.

For comparison reasons, we post DL burning times for other writers, with the same disc content and same recording software:

Well, as we can see form the above list, the review drive isn't first, but at least it's alos not last in the list of DL burners. In any case, as we mentioned in the beginning, being a laptop drive, emphasis should be given to quality and not speed.
