Want to lean more about latest Pioneer 10x DVD Rom and how to (possible) unlock it ?..Check this page. Also Arzeno from The Firmware page says :

"..The region lock is located on a little add-on card on the drive motherboard.. Pioneer envisaged the possibility of modifying the reader by changing this internal card. Here in France, Pioneer make the modification for 250Fr. (probably not anymore in 2000). Some people already successfully do it via Pioneer.
