Samsung Launches New P9 Express microSD Express Cards

Samsung Launches New P9 Express microSD Express Cards

Cameras Nov 5,2025 0

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its first ever line of microSD Express cards designed to deliver next-level gaming experiences optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2[1]. Available today in 256GB and 512GB capacities[2], the Samsung P9 Express microSD Express cards will store all your favorite games and downloadable content, while ensuring fast, reliable performance for players casual and competitive alike.

“With its high-speeds and enhanced reliability, SD Express technology is ushering in a new era of microSD performance, ideal for demanding professionals and immersive gaming experiences, especially on the Nintendo Switch 2,” said Jim Kiczek, Vice President of Memory Marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “Our P9 Express microSD Express cards are ready to expand the storage of your device, delivering the speed, durability and efficiency you’ve come to expect from Samsung. Whether you’re a hardcore gamer who’s always expanding your library or a family all sharing the same console, our cards will help you overcome storage limitations and enjoy a wide variety of titles, without compromise.”

The P9 Express combines ultra-fast transfer speeds, Host Memory Buffer (HMB) support and advanced Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG) technology, originally developed for SSDs. The result is smooth, reliable gameplay, with seamless access to all your games and downloaded content.

Based on the latest PCIe interface and NVMe protocol, the P9 Express features maximum sequential read speeds of up to 800MB/s. That’s up to four times faster than conventional UHS-I cards[3], helping you speed up your downloads and breeze through load screens.

HMB utilizes your host system’s memory to accelerate data access, enabling improved response times and upping your performance during gameplay. Meanwhile, DTG intelligently monitors and regulates the card’s temperature, preventing overheating and maintaining consistent performance, even during marathon gaming sessions.

To protect valuable data — whether it’s saved game progress or large media files — the P9 Express features 6-proof durability[4], safeguarding against water immersion[5], extreme temperatures[6], X-ray exposure[7], magnetic fields[8], accidental drops[9] and wear out[10]. These robust protections give you peace of mind knowing that your games and files are always safe and secure. Plus, every card comes with a 3-Year Limited Warranty[11] and access to the Samsung Magician software[12] for product authenticity verification, card health monitoring and more.

The Samsung P9 Express microSD Express cards are available for purchase at Samsung.com and other select retailers. They have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $54.99 for the 256GB model and $99.99 for the 512GB model.
