Yamaha internal CRW-F1 models mow shipping

General Interest Jul 22,2002 0

Yamaha Electronics Corporation announces that their much-anticipated internal CRW-F1 models are now shipping. Available in both E-IDE and SCSI interfaces, the internal CRW-F1 models come in two colors, designed to keep up with the ever-changing look of PCs. Each model will be available in platinum white to compliment everyday designs of PC towers, Monitors and other peripherals, as well as in black to compliment the new, more modern look of PCs. All Yamaha's CRW-F1 series of optical recorders offer the revolutionary DiscT@2(TM) Laser Labeling System, which allows graphics and text to be burnt onto any CD-R disc, eliminating the need for labels. The internal E-IDE model CRW-F1ZE comes in platinum white and is available for a competitive estimated street price of $179.99. The same model in black (model number CRW-F1ZEN) is available at $199.99. The internal SCSI model CRW-F1ZS comes in platinum white and if offered at an estimated street price of $249.99. The same model in black (model number CRW-F1ZSN) is available at a $279.99.

All internal CRW-F1 models come with a host of unique and exclusive features and are designed to deliver top performance without sacrificing quality or reliability. In addition to Yamaha's revolutionary DiscT@2(TM) Laser Labeling System (which allows graphics and text to be burnt onto any CD-R disc), the CRW-F1 offers the first ever 24X CD-RW ReWriting with Mt. Rainier support and the exclusive CD-RW Audio Track Edit system, Yamaha's award-winning Safe-Burn buffer underrun prevention technology with 8MB of buffer memory, the exclusive PurePhase Laser System (which reduces jitters while recording by 25%), a high-tech blue ice LED indicator light, and Yamaha's class-defining Advanced Audio Master Quality Recording System for mastering studio-quality audio and data CDs.

The new CRW-F1 also features the jitter suppressing Full-CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) writing technology, the adaptation of which enables the Yamaha CRW-F1 to burn a full 80-minute CD-R disc in just 163 seconds, quicker than any 48X CD-Recorder using the conventional Zone-CLV speed shifting technology, while guaranteeing impeccable quality, playback reliability and a longer life expectancy.

Topping its list of impressive features, the CRW-F1 retail bundle includes an impressive software suite to provide a top-quality burning experience, featuring full-versions of software from Nero, Adobe, and Dantz, as well as a custom-designed version of the popular MusicMatch, representing a combined value of over $300.

Other members of Yamaha's CRW-F1 family include: The external CRW-F1ZUX, using USB 2.0 interface, will be available at a street price of $229.99; the external CRW-F1ZSX, using the Ultra SCSI interface, will be available at a street price of $329.99; and the external dual interface CRW-F1ZDX, using IEEE 1394 FireWire(TM) + USB 2.0 technology, will be available at a street price of $279.99. All models are compatible with IBM PC. The external drives are also compatible with Macintosh computers.
