Samsung Electronics is seriously considering buying Blackberry in a move that could provide the South Korean giant with a large trove of patents.
Reuters cites an unnamed source as saying that Samsung has already offered Blackberry $7.5 billion in order to buy the company,
Executives from the two companies met last week to discuss a potential transaction, the source said.
BlackBerry and Samsung are already partnering in order to merge their respective security platforms for the Galaxy smartphones.
