Acer ships MiniRW 8824MM

As people become increasingly mobile, so the need for high-quality CD-writing for laptops increases. And Acer is responding to this need with a range of high-quality external drives. The latest is the MiniRW 8824MM - an ultra-slim, highly powerful external CD drive that adds high-quality, reliable CD re-writing power to your notebook or PC through its dual interface. This ultra-slim, sleekly styled drive offers a maximum speed of 8X writing, 8X rewriting, and 24X reading when incorporated with FireWire cables. It has a buffer of 2 MB. And, true to Acer's commitment to writing reliability, it features the Acer patented Seamless Link technology. The 8824MM incorporates a variety of interfaces: USB, FireWire, PCMCIA, or both USB & PCMCIA. Its slim design and light weight (0.52kg) makes it the perfect companion to laptops and notebooks. The 8824MM is a value package with both USB and PCMIA cables included.

The Acer MiniRW 8824MM has been designed to handle a very wide range of disk media. It will accept CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM (mode 1 and mode 2), CD-ROM XA (mode 2, form 1 and form 2), CD-DA, CD-I (mode 2, form I and form 2), Photo CD (single and multi-sessions), Video CD, CD-Extra, and mixed mode CD. It handles both 8 cm and 12 cm disks.
