Recognition from the DVD Forum's Class A Lab requires the passing of more than 100 strict inspections on the product as well as the manufacturing procedures. At present, there are very few DVD-RAM manufacturers able to meet the standards required by the DVD Forum. Once receiving recognition, manufacturers are permitted to show the DVD logo on products, ads and promotional items.
