"..Matsushita-Kotobuki announced today that they plan on putting into the market an 8X DVD drive this July. The company has converted some of its CD drive production facilities to speed production of the new drive. They plan on capturing 40% of the fast growing DVD market by producing 8 million drives per year. They estimate that !8 to 20 million will be sought by consumers this fiscal year alone. Plans apparently exist to release a 4.7GB DVD-R this July also.." NULL
