In order to use all Withings product you need to get the free app Withings Health Mate either in Google Play Store or Apple App Store, depending your smart phone / tablet operating system. Here we will examine the Google Play Store version, but things should be the same with also the IOS version as well. After having already installed the app and created a free account you need to head over to Devices

Select Scales and then Body + and press Install

The device was automatically updated to the latest available firmware.

You need to select an existing Wi-Fi network that will be users to SYNC the reported data back to Withings Servers.

After connecting with the Internet, the product will be activated.
