Twitter Moves Closer Instagram With Updated Camera
Twitter today introduced a new version of its camera that’s designed to promote more sharing of photos and videos on the network.
The new camera can be accessed faster than before. All you have to do is open the Twitter app on your phone, swipe left and you're in. From there, you'll have the Capture and Live options. With Capture, you can either do a quick tap to snap a picture or hold it for a couple of seconds to record up to about two minutes videos. You can also tap a “live” button to begin broadcasting a stream to your followers directly from Twitter.
Once you’ve snapped your image, you'll see an overlay where you can add your location, text and hashtags. Like a regular tweet, you can type up to 280 characters on it. You can also pick between a few colors to spice it up: you can change the chyron from the default blue to one of five other colors.
Twitter will also search the area around you for events where you might be tweeting.
