OPPO Launches the 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge Technology

OPPO Launches the 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge Technology

Smartphones Sep 17,2019 0

OPPO is launching three new flash charge technologies: 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0, 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge and VOOC Flash Charge 4.0.

The SuperVOOC 2.0, which will be debuted in OPPO’s forthcoming Reno Ace smartphone, has the ability to fully charge a 4000mAh battery in just 30 minutes.

Oppo claims that the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 technology can charge a 4000mAh battery from 1% to 100% in just 27 minutes, and battery fully filled in 30 minutes(battery is not fully filled when the charging indicator hits 100%). The solution can also charge up to 27% in a mere five minutes. It is also backward compatible with SuperVOOC and VOOC Flash Charge.

The 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 adopted customized and advanced components, design, and manufacturing process to improve charging efficiency while suppressing heat generation. OPPO SuperVOOC 2.0 also adopted the Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductors, which effectively shortens charging time and further reduces adapter size.

In terms of safety, Oppo says it has placed five safety protection measures throughout the adapter, wire and handset ends.

OPPO’s 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge technology is designed to meet the needs of the diversified and fragmented nature of users’ charging scenarios. The wireless charging technology enables wireless VOOC to be on par with wired VOOC in terms of charging speed.

The technology allows a 4000mAh battery to reach a full charge within 80 minutes. Compatible with the QI standard, it also supports a charging power of 5W or 10W.

To enhance safety, OPPO has adopted several hardware designs to avoid overheating, HVDC and a foreign object detection function that ensures charging stops immediately when the charging board detects the intrusion of foreign metal objects.

Last but not least, Oppo positions the VOOC 4.0, which has undergone an full upgrade and will be featured in the OPPO K5, to be the next-generation Flash Charge solution for all.

In addition to the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 and 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge , OPPO has upgraded VOOC Flash Charge to Version 4.0. Thanks to larger charging power comparing with VOOC 3.0, VOOC 4.0 enables a 4000mAh battery to be charged to 67% in 30 minutes and 100% in 73 minutes, 12% faster than previous generation . A further optimized VFC algorithm serves to reduce the charging time required for charging the final 10% of battery capacity. OPPO has also reduced the internal resistance of the entire charging system and suppressed heat generation through efficient adapter and advanced battery cell design. Oppo says that even if you play while charging, the temperature can be well controlled.

Positioned as the next generation Flash Charge solution for all, VOOC 4.0 can be compatible with all Flash Charge protocols prior to VOOC 3.0, and can achieve full load charging power of 5V4A (20W).
