The new NP-DM3 desk mat is a 90cm mat that covers your desk and commemorates key milestones in Noctua’s history, from the first NH-U heatsinks and NF-S12 fans to landmark products like the NF-P12 or NH-D14, all the way to the latest G2 models.

The retail package is rather simple, according to what Noctua has used in the past. The retail package weighs around 927 g and has dimensions of 42cm X 8cm X 8cm. The desk mat comes wrapped in a thin white sheet of paper to keep it in place and has no serious plastic smell, which will evaporate during the first use. The product has 90x40cm dimensions, and the color theme (brown/beige) is according to what Noctua uses on most of their coolers, following the history of Noctua coolers. The product comes with a low-friction jersey fabric and an anti-slip rubber at the bottom, while the edges are stitched for endurance during use. The product has a 0.04cm thickness, which is higher than we have seen with similar products.

Noctua also offers several suggestions on how to clean this desk mat, maybe follow them in order to keep the product as new

• Please be gentle and careful when cleaning it in order to preserve its vibrant colours, smooth surface and precise stitching.
• For spot cleaning, please wipe the mat with a clean cloth dipped in water or a mild laundry detergent solution. Don’t use aggressive detergents or coarse cleaning sponges.
• For thorough cleaning, the NP-DM3 can be hand-washed or machine-washed using low-heat (30°C max.) hand wash programs without tumbling. In either case, please use mild laundry detergents only and make sure to hang up the mat after washing until it is completely dry.
• Do not use tumble drying.
• Note that repeated washing will inevitably cause wear and tear to the mat, so only wash if necessary.

We do really like the overall color theme, and if you are a big fan of Noctua products or simply want something out of the ordinary, a black color desk mat, this is the right product for you...

It's only a matter of time to see if Noctua will also offer a Chromax build of this desk mat, which would be awesome as well. Performance-wise, there is no serious testing, apart from the fact that the Noctua NP-DM3 desk mat will stick to your desk, and the mouse will slide beautifully with low friction to keep you happy. We highly suggest the "best buy" product if you ask us. Lastly, the retail price is around 40 euros, which is slightly higher than the competition, but the higher quality justifies it after all.
