Noctua releases to the market, two "new" CPU coolers at their Chromax.black edition, the NH-D9L and NH-L9x65 models. For users who wish to get that sexy total black look, the Chromax.black editions are the best you can find, quiet cooling performance with a sleek stealth look. Both products come in the usual Noctua packaging, which means you will get a perfectly designed box, with all needed components and screws/mounting plates either for Intel or AMD systems. In fact with those new models, you will get to include the new "upgraded" AMD brackets, which support the offset position of the CPU cooler to handle the slightly different core design of the AMD5 processors and therefore get better performance.

The installation process is very easy with both products and you won't get much hustle completing this task. Noctua has included a 3.5gr NT-H1 thermal paste tube, which is a good thing since most other manufacturers don't include branded thermal paste in their retail boxes. For our tests, we used an AM5 platform with the most hungry AMD processor, the AMD 7950X. We used the built-in Asus BIOS AMD presets to simulate different CPU processor scenarios, for 65-watt / 105-watt, and 170-watt CPUs. Many users after all use those presets to lower the overall heat dispass of their processors and get a good balance between speed and CPU temperatures. So what's the verdict? We can say that both the NH-D9L and NH-L9x65 can handle 65watt TDP processors and perhaps even 105Watt TDP CPUs, while 170watt TDP-rated processors (like the AMD 7950X) will introduce not great performance, but the system won't thermal throttle so thats a good thing. Since both CPU coolers have low volume and dimensions, it's clear that are aimed at small factor systems and if you are in the market for such CPU coolers, we can highly recommend both products, depending on your needs. Noctua does provide a 6-year warranty for their products and the manufacturer's retail recommended price for the NH-D9L chromax.black is EUR 74.90 / USD 74.90, while for the NH-L9x65 chromax.black is EUR 69.90 / USD 69.90.
