NEC delivers innovation in the area of presentation technology, optical storage and supercomputing

Optical Storage Feb 13,2003 0

NEC will underpin its leading role in the fields of information technology (IT) and telecommunications (TC) at this year’s CeBIT. The company will present its ground-breaking, pioneering technical solutions at two separate stands. The range of products on display at the IT stand will include presentation technologies such as projectors and plasma displays, home cinema projectors, optical storage media, security solutions, supercomputers, servers and PCs. The TC stand, on the other hand, will be dedicated to NEC’s GSM, i-mode and UMTS mobile phones and applications for mobile Internet access. This selection of products will be rounded off by network infrastructure for broadband and mobile radio technology and components for mobile radio units.

ND-1300A: Format-free DVD writer

NEC will present the first format-free, quadruple-speed DVD writer at this year’s CeBIT. The ND-1300A gives users the freedom to choose which rewritable DVD format they want: they can use DVD-R(W) or DVD+R(W) to copy films for their home cinemas, record music or store images and data. With its quadruple speed, the DVD writer is the fastest DVD recorder currently available on the market. It also copies CDs in next to no time and boasts excellent reading rates. For example, it takes only 15 minutes to record one hour of DVD video.

NR-9300A: High-speed 48/24/48X CD-R/RW writer

NEC will introduce its new high speed CD-R(W) drive, capable of writing to CD-R on 48x maximum same as writing or rewriting CD-RW discs at 24x speed. The NR-9300A reads CD-ROM media at 48x maximum speed with an access time of 98 ms. It offers fast and highly reliable rewritable technology for fast backup, personal file storage and CD prototyping. By using JustLink, the NR-9300A is equipped with the most enhanced burn-proof technology, which prevents buffer under run errors. In addition the “high-resolution writing strategy”, using advanced laser modulation, and “Active OPC”, dynamically adjusting the optimum laser power of the media in use, secure the best possible result.
