- Writing Quality

Now, let us have a look in the writting quality of the drive, using the LiteOn SOHD-167T and the Plextor PX-712A drives.

• Traxdata Double Layer media @ 2.4X

Reading the DL media with Nero CDSpeed, we got the above graph which indicates poor quality performance. Simply too many speed fluctuations.

Using Plextools, we got the above scan, with the PI/PIF to the max. The LiteOn performed poorly in the specific DL tests and maybe a possible future upgrade would improve its performance with DL writing. Moving on...

• Verbatim Double Layer media @ 2.4X

Again, using CDSpeed, we got the above quality scan, smooth from the beginning until the completion of the reading test. Now this is closer to what we expected.

The graphs above speak for themselves... Verbatim reported good quality but we expected it to be better, as we expected for Traxdata as well.
