Imation Delivers CD and DVD Disc Publisher For SMBs and Workgroups

Optical Storage Oct 4,2006 0

Imation brings a complete solution for optical disc publishing to workgroups and the small- and medium-business (SMB) market. The Imation D20 Disc Publisher is an all-in-one CD and DVD publishing system that automates the copying of up to 20 discs at once, and is optimized for full-color, direct-to-disc printing using Imation Inkjet Printable Media with AquaGuard(TM) surface. An expert in delivering optical media technologies engineered for the demands of business, Imation delivers its D20 Disc Publisher to users seeking an affordable way to professionally finish CD and DVD media. The Imation D20 Disc Publisher is ideal for duplication of marketing and sales materials, music, video, catalogs and more.

"From marketing and sales departments in large enterprises to schools, hospitals, law firms, or even worship centers, users who have frequent, shorter-run projects are looking for the convenience of a straight-forward way to produce professional-quality CDs and DVDs in-house. The Imation D20 Disc Publisher does it all," said James Milligan, general manager for the Commercial/OEM Division, Imation Corp. "With over 25 years of optical data storage leadership, Imation is well known as the expert in printable optical media, with industry-leading products such as CDs and DVDs with AquaGuard water-resistant surface. We know how critical a professional look and trusted results are to our business users, and the D20 was designed to deliver both ease-of-use and high-quality results with inkjet printable media."

About the size of a standard inkjet printer, the Imation D20 Disc Publisher automates the entire disc duplication process. When used in combination with Imation AquaGuard discs, the system's image creation software and ink ensure maximum design flexibility, brilliant colors from hub to edge, and quick-drying graphics that resist smearing when exposed to water or humid conditions. Simple, quick setup and easy-to-use software ensure high-quality results that leave a professional, unique impression. Simply connect it to the USB port on a PC or Mac, install the print software, create your own design, and load the discs. The Imation D20 Disc Publisher duplicates discs quickly with full-color, high resolution prints at 4800 dpi in up to 16.7 million colors using a single ink cartridge. The system includes:

DVD/CD burning and printing software for use with PC and Mac systems

Integrated Pioneer DVD/CD Recorder with recording speeds of up to 16X for DVD+R/-R, up to 8X for DVD+/-R DL, and up to 40X for CD-R

USB 2.0 interface

The Imation D20 Disc Publisher, including the disc duplicator, a package of 10 Imation Inkjet Printable CDs with AquaGuard surface, image creation software and ink, is available now through authorized Imation distributors in the United States for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,495.
