I-O Data to launch transformer enabling SCSI devices to be used via USB 2.0 port

General Interest Nov 8,2001 0

I-O Data Device Inc. will launch a new transformer, the "USB2-SC," that enables SCSI devices to be used on PCs installed with USB2.0 port/USB1.1 port. It is to be launched by the end of November, and will be priced at 7,500 yen. (121.13 yen = US$1). The new product is capable of SCSI daisy chain, and it will be able to use four SCSI devices simultaneously at maximum. The configuration of the connector is SCSI D-Sub half pitch of 50-pin. It's size is almost equivalent to an SCSI terminator, and said to be the world smallest. It requires no outer power such as an AC adapter, and can be used by simply connecting it to the cable. This product has obtained "USB 2.0 Hi-Speed" logo validation. When it is connected to USB 2.0 interface, the transmission speed of SCSI can be fully exploited. It also is compliant with the usual USB 1.1 port, and when it is connected to USB 1.1 port, it will operate as a device for USB 1.1.
