Fujifilm aims to sell 80,000 digital cameras this year
Fujifilm has set a sales target of 80,000 digital still cameras (DSCs) for the Taiwan
market this year, dropping by 20% from the 100,000 units sold last year, as DigiTimes.com reports.
The decrease is mainly because DSC models available for sale this year are fewer than in
2004, Hung Chongs senior manager James Chen pointed out. Of the target sales volume,
3,000 DSCs will be FinePix F10 launched last month and 5,000 be FinePix Z1 just made
available for sale earlier this month, Chen indicated.
In addition, Fujifilm will launch the Pivi, a pocket-size mobile printer model which can link to cell phone cameras via infrared, in August at a tentative retail price of NT$4,500 (US$144), Chen noted. With a dimension of 126.5 x 98 x 29.5mm and weight of 205 grams, the Pivi is able to print 130 photos of 254dpi in resolution, about one every 21 seconds, and is powered by two CR2 batteries when unplugged.
