Freecom TapeWare SDLT-600 enables reliable data storage at maximum speed

Freecom TapeWare SDLT-600 enables reliable data storage at maximum speed

Enterprise & IT Oct 19,2004 0

The SDLT-600 makes the backing-up and operation of local networks and all data even faster, more convenient and more reliable - with a capacity of up to 600 GB per tape. With an outstanding transfer rate of up to 72 MB/s (based on a 2:1 compression ratio), Freecom Technologies offers in the SDLT-600 the fastest currently available mid-range professional back-up method on the market. The tremendous speed is also equalled by its reliability and compatibility with older models.

Thanks to the new programme DLTSage, your data are more secure than ever before. The prize-winning Storage Management System developed by Quantum operates using a preventive function, in permanent communication with all other connected devices and databases. The revolutionary DLTSage programme, which also enables continual data access, even during the back-up process, also comes complete with a software package far ahead of LTO and AIT tape drives when it comes to performance capabilities and advanced technology. A glance at the website www.dlttape.com confirms the technology lead also indicated by the tremendous speed of this drive.

The compatibility of the SDLT-600 with the predecessor models SDLT-320/220 and DLT-VS160 offers the capability of extending already existing back-up systems or reading existing data (libraries) from the SDLT-600 and managing them from here in future. This ensures that investment made in back-up systems in the past can continue to be used effectively.

The SDLT-600 is already available in the shops, and comes complete with the TapeWare software, a comprehensive manual with operating instructions, and a black front panel in the case of the internal drive. Freecom offers a 3-year express replacement guarantee, starting from official registration.
