Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 RGB
2. Retail Package
The Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280RGB costs around ~127 Euro and can be bought directly from the Arctic or your local store. The retail package is nicely designed with all the needed logos at the front and back indicating the product's main features and of course the RGB theme. As we mentioned earlier the product comes with 6 years of warranty.
Opening the box, we will find the internal, for sure we would want a little more protection for the CPU cooler area. All other components are included in a white box. The product supports Intel (1700, 1200, 115X, 2011-3, 2066 Square ILM) and all recently released AMD sockets (AM4/AM5).
There are many contents included for installing this product and are placed in one plastic bag. We would like for Arctic to separate or include a better indication of which screws are for which platform (Intel/AMD)
At the retail package, you will find also MX-5 thermal paste for two uses. Arctic does include an online guide for installing the AIO cooler, either for Intel or AMD.
There is also a 4-way RGB controller included with the retail package. that is powered via a SATA cable.
Lets now see the product. What is very good is the fact that the Liquid Freezer II 280 RGB is pre-assembled, meaning you don't have to waste any time trying to install fans or route RGB/power cables, everything is in their place.
The Liquid Freezer II 280RGB includes two ARCTIC P14 PWM A-RGB – 140 mm Fans with 200-1900RPM fan speed, with Fluid Dynamic Bearing technology and low noise and power consumption. The connector is 4-pin and also includes a 3 PIN 5 V-DI-Gnd cable for the RGB function. 12 A-RGB LEDs per Fan fully illuminate the whole structure.
The radiator has 317 x 138 x 38 mm dimensions
At the CPU area, you will find the included pump, two tubes with an inner 6.0mm and outer 12.4mm diameter and a long length of 450mm for each tube. The base Arctic CPU component has 98 mm x 78 mm x 53 mm dimensions and should fit in most modern motherboards without any serious issues. Arctic does produce different variations of the Liquid Freezer II series to help with incompatibilities and after looking at their online website there some motherboards which are not compatible with Rev2 of the product, most problems have been solved with the Rev3 that is currently is sold at the market. The overall weight of the product including fans, radiator, pump, and tubes is around 1.6kg.
This AIO cooler does include a VRM small 40mm fan that rotates from 1000-3000rpm (PWM controlled) and as for the pump, it is also PWM controlled (800-2000rpm) with a power consumption of 0,5 W – 2,7 W (Pump + VRM Fan) that can be turned off by disconnecting a small connector on the left. The base includes a 40x44mm rectangular copper plate that acts as the contact that dispass heat from the CPU to the radiator.
