The AC. Ryan PlayonHD! can be bought directly from AC Ryan for €149. The device is also available at local online resellers. The price is somewhat higher than similar products we have already tested here, such as the Patriot Memory Box office ($99).

Let's have a look to the package. Although the player's size is compact, the package is bigger than we expected. All the basic information and features of the player are illustrated on the front. We should note here that in order to enjoy Wifi connectivity you have to buy the additional Wifi module (Wireless-N 300mbps) from AC. Ryan, at the retail price €29. However, all currently sold Wifi USB modules based on chipsets from Realtek (either B/G/N) will work just fine.

What's inside:

- 1x AC Ryan Playon! HD
- 1x Remote Control
- 2x AA Battery
- 1x FREE HIFX Evolution ValuePack HDMI 1.3 quality cable (2m)
- 1x Composite A/V Cable
- 1x Y/Pb/Pr Cable
- 1x USB A to USB B Cable
- 1x AC Adaptor
- 1x Power Cord
- 1x Quick Installation Guide
- 1x User Manual

The package comes complete including many types of cables that can be used to connect the device with your TV and of course an HDMI 1.3 cable.

The player itself looks is solid with an outer metallic shell. Its black color as well as the rounded top sides contribute to an overall minimal design that should match your TV set.

The main device is compact enough at 227 x 165 x 60mm and weights around 1.0kg.

Besides the A.C. Ryan logo, the front panel of the player has a back-lit power button (red/blue).

The rear panel includes Digital audio outputs, Network inputs, HDMI-Composite-Component video outputs and of course a power jack. Two USB hosts, a USB slave port and a memory slot with support for SD/SDHC/MMC/MS/MSPro cards are placed at the side of the player.
