First 48X RW drive (48x12x48x) in the market launched by LITE-ON!

First 48X RW drive (48x12x48x) in the market launched by LITE-ON!

General Interest Jun 13,2002 0

The fastest RW burner in the market today is designed and manufactured by LITE-ON IT Corp. The drive provides 48X maximum CD-R recording speed (CAV); 12X maximum CD-RW recording speed (CLV); and an industry leading 48X CD-ROM reading speed. 48X RW drive's 12X-max RW recording speed supports most normal to high quality 10X RW media available in the market today. LTR-48125W incorporates Buffer-Under-Run protection utility that is must-have among high speed CD burners, and the drive is shipped with Buffer-Under-Run protection function always enabled that could provide automatic writing strategy and running OPC.

48X RW drive also includes the "redefined" SMART-BURN (Smart Monitoring & Adapting Recording Technology for BURNing) feature with this fastest burner. The new SMART-BURN would automatically check media quality and set limit to burning speed that is best suited for that media to ensure successful writing sessions. (Users will have an option to deactivate this feature if they choose to force the drive to record at maximum speed regardless of media quality. Users will have to take such action at their own risk.)

48X RW drive continues to feature LITE-ON's SMART-X (Smart Monitoring and Adjusting Read-speed Technology for eXtraction) function that provides the fastest (48Xmax) and smart DAE speed among current RW drives during copying or playback. The VAS (Vibration Absorber System) is used to reduce the vibration and noise to minimum during normal operation. 48X RW drive supports Mt.Rainier standard and uses flash ROM for convenient in the field upgrades.
