VISIONTEK expands XTASY product line at Best Buy to include high-end optical drives

VISIONTEK expands XTASY product line at Best Buy to include high-end optical drives

General Interest Jun 12,2002 0

VisionTek, a leading provider of advanced graphics and memory solutions for PCs, today announced that it has expanded its award-winning Xtasy™ line to include optical drives. By partnering with retail giant Best Buy, VisionTek plans to extend the success of its Xtasy brand into product categories that appeal to the PC enthusiast beyond 3D graphics. The new high-performance CD-RW drives allow users to record their favorite MP3s, back up key data, create photo albums and much more. Two new drives will be available at Best Buy in June:

" The Xtasy 48X CD-RW Drive is for the PC enthusiast looking for the ultimate in speed and performance, supporting 48x writing, 12x re-writing and 48x read speeds. It is one of the first 48X drives on retail shelves using the Constant Angular Velocity (CAV) recording method, the fastest method available. MSRP is $159.99.

" The Xtasy 40X CD-RW Drive supports 40x writing, 12x re-writing and 40x read speeds and gives the mainstream user incredible power at a great price. MSRP is $119.99.

The Xtasy CD-RW Optical Drives feature SMART-BURN® technology which eliminates buffer underrun errors and a VAS® Vibration Absorber System mechanism to reduce vibration and noise. They are internal ATAPI/E-IDE drives that come packaged with the popular Nero burning-ROM software, as well as a comprehensive installation manual and a one-year warranty. As with all Xtasy products, VisionTek provides web-based and toll-free lifetime technical support.

"VisionTek has a history of producing and supporting quality products to our customers," said Mehrdad Akbar, senior buyer for Best Buy. "We are confident that VisionTek's new optical drives will deliver the same level of performance for Best Buy and our customers."

"We are always looking at how we can better meet the needs of PC enthusiasts," said John Malley, director of marketing for VisionTek. "By extending the Xtasy brand to include 40X and 48X CD-RW drives at Best Buy, VisionTek is once again delivering cutting-edge technology to consumers at attractive price points."

Both the Xtasy 48X CD-RW Drive and the Xtasy 40X CD-RW Drive will be available at Best Buy stores beginning June 23rd.
