It is possible with the use of "OmniPatcher for LiteOn DVD Writers", to change the maximum supported reading speed for every supported media as listed in the drive's firmware and of course swap writing strategies between the media.

We have ticked the "Increase DVD±R/R9/RW reading speed" in order to see if the drive can benefit from the increased reading speed. Judging from the results below, only DVD+R/+RW media can "boosted" to 12X with a smooth graph, the DVD-R reached 10X, while DVD+R9 read up to 10X (CAV).
