Samsung Unveils Its New DVD Recorder Family

Samsung introduced four new DVD recording solutions, the DVD-R120, DVD-VR320, DVD-VR325, and DVD-TR520. The lineup includes a Dual Deck DVD Recorder/High Speed duplicator, a DVD/VCR recorder which incorporates up-conversion, a single deck DVD recorder and a dual-deck DVD recorder. DVD/VHS Recording

Samsung's DVD-VR325 is a VHS-DVD multi-recording device that offers recording between VHS tapes and DVD discs. Direct recordings from television to either BHS or DVD format is also supported. Whan used for playback, the device also offers High- Definition conversion from both DVD and VHS via HDMI, offering consumers 480p/720p and 1080i output. The DVD-VR325 is currently available for $400.

The other model (DVD-VR320) provides the same multi-format playback and recording together with a 480P progressive scan image that helps eliminates blur and distortion. Both DVD Recorders have an automatic chapter creator and front DV-inputs for true digital transfer from a digital camcorder.The DVD-VR320 is currently available at MAP $299.99.

Dual-Deck DVD Recording

With two DVD trays, the DVD-TR520 allows copying of home video content directly from disc to disc at speeds of 2x for DVD-RAM to RAM, 4x for DVD-RW to -RW and up to 6X for DVD-R to -R. With 6x high speed copy, two hours of content can be copied in as little as 20 minutes, while the digital-to-digital interface ensures high-picture quality. Copies can be made at the push of a button. The DVD-TR520 is currently available for at MAP $449.99.

Single-Deck DVD Recording

The DVD-R120 records in DVD-RAM, -RW, and -R formats, with an Auto Chapter Creator function for added convenience. the supported video playback formats include DVD-RAM, -RW, -R, DVD-Video as well as playback of audio files on CD-R/RW. The DVD-R120 also has a front DV-input. The DVD-R120 is currently available at MAP $179.99.
