Philips new dvd player range offers digital photo viewing, enhanced viewing experience and sophisticated designs

Whether looking for style, innovation or an affordable solution, Philips Electronics full line of ultra slim DVD players has a product that will fit into any lifestyle. The Philips DVD line ranges from basic DVD playback, to progressive scan to digital imaging solutions. Introduced today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Philips’ new line of DVD players display incredible highly detailed images that will make movies look sharper and more pleasing to the eye. The new DVD players include the DVD726, DVD727, DVD750, DVD760 and the DVD580. "Our new DVD players allow consumers to experience a better video performance," said Michael Lang, general manager, audio/video, Philips Consumer Electronics, North America. "The players offer consumers an excellent home entertainment solution whether they are avid movie fans or dedicated music buffs. The sophisticated styles and designs allow consumers to move away from the bulky looking consumer electronic products to an ultra-slim design that offers style and fashion. Consumers will now have the latest technologies in hot, popular designs."

DVD-Video and Photo Interactivity: Philips DVD760

Providing compelling imaging, the DVD760 is the first player in the market to feature a media slot that is nearly 100 percent compatible with all memory card formats. Exploring new dimensions in photo interactivity, Philips new DVD760 features picture CD playback and a media slot for versatile memory card applications. Users will be able to view, enhance and organize their favorite images with the Philips Digital Photo Manager while sharing their memories with family and friends in the warm surroundings of the living room. Additionally, the player features a Digital Music Manager, which provides advanced playlist management for extensive MP3 music collections.

Utilizing 3:2 pull-down progressive scan technology, the DVD760 provides crystal clear images. The player also features component video outputs and digital audio outputs ensuring the highest quality audio and video connectivity. With a suggested retail price of $ 169, the DVD760 will be available mid summer.

Discover the Progressive Scan Difference: Philips DVD726, DVD727, and DVD750

With Philips progressive scan technology, even and odd TV lines are written at the same time. Both fields are sent simultaneously to the screen creating a full image in one sweep using the maximum resolution. This results in a razor-sharp, flicker-free picture that is relaxing for the eyes. The new DVD726, DVD727, and DVD750 also feature advanced video processing offering consumers an accurate well-defined picture. To ensure high compatibility with consumers video display devices, both models include component, composite and S-Video outputs.

Additionally, both players feature playback of DVD-Video, DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3-CD, S-VCD, VCD and Picture CD discs. The DVD726 features Smart Picture, Digital Zoom and also contains digital coaxial and optical outputs, providing the highest level and quality audio connection. With a suggested retail price of $ 99, the DVD726 will be available in May 2003. The DVD727 features four times video upsampling, 24bit/192kHz audio processing and a universal remote. The DVD727 will have a suggested retail price of $ 119 and be available in May 2003. The DVD750 is a DVD/VCR combination model that features progressive scan DVD playback and a 4 head HiFi VHS.

Offering one touch recording, a unified remote, and a full set of audio and video connections (optical, coaxial, component, composite, S-video, and RF input/output) this model offers top quality in a convenient space saving design. The DVD750 will have a suggested retail price of $ 179 and be available in early summer.

Sleek and Small with Placement Versatility: Philips DVD580

The Philips DVD580 offers consumers a new option when viewing DVD-Video. This one-of-a-kind DVD-Video player features a slot loader and a stylish stand providing horizontal or vertical positioning assuring that it will fit in virtually any home entertainment system. Equipped with built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders, the DVD580M produces amazing home theater sound quality. Users can create their own mini-home theatre system to enjoy their movies, music and memories. The DVD580 plays DVD-Video, DVD+RW, DVD+R, Picture CDs, MP3, CD-R, CD-RW, CD Audio, VCD and SVCD. Currently available, the DVD580M has a suggested retail price of $ 149.
