ASUS today announced the Designo MX27AQ, a 27-inch WQHD monitor with embedded ICEpower and Bang & Olufsen technology. Designo MX27AQ has a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 WQHD display which provides up to 25% sharper, images and 77% more onscreen space than similarly-sized Full HD displays. It features an in-plane switching (AH-IPS) panel that gives an 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 100% sRGB color space, as well as 178-degree wide viewing angles.

Designo MX27AQ has an ultra-slim profile that measures just 1.25cm at its thinnest point. It has an edge-to-edge frameless panel with a bezel thickness of just 0.1cm.

Audio is delivered through the monitor's two built-in 3W stereo speakers, enhanced by the ASUS SonicMaster audio technology, incorporating ICEpower, Bang & Olufsen's MobileSound 3 chip.

MX27AQ also features the ASUS AudioWizard function, with four pre-set audio modes (Music, Movie, Gaming, User) to suit the task at hand.

Video input options include DisplayPort 1.2, dual HDMI ports and a HDMI / MHL 2.0 port. The latter lets users view content stored in MHL-compatible devices on the MX27AQ, and simultaneously charges the mobile device when connected.

ASUS Designo MX27AQ will be available from March in Taiwan, Asia Pacific, European and North American markets. Prices start from US$499 and will vary by region.
