KANO introduces SLIM-K2Xtreme dual-interface DVD+RW portable drive for the Mac and PC

General Interest Jul 10,2003 0

Kano Technologies introduces its new SLIM-K2XtremeTM portable DVD+RW drive. The FireWire/USB 2.0 combo drive allows users to easily add fast, external DVD burning capability to a laptop or desktop. This small drive measures 5.5” x 6” x .75” and weighs only 10 ounces. Its write speeds are 2.4 x 2.4 x 8 for DVDs and 16 x 8 x 24 for CD-RWs. The SLIM-K2Xtreme comes in two versions: one for Mac users, the other for PC users. Both versions feature award-winning software.

The PC version is bundled with Roxio’s Easy CD Creator DVD Edition (for creating CDs and DVDs) and NTI Back Up Now! Combo for DVD (for backing up and restoring data).

The Mac version includes Roxio’s Toast Lite (for burning CDs and DVDs) and Dantz Retrospect Express (for data backup and restore). Toast Lite provides the ability to burn audio CDs, data CDs and DVDs, and copy unprotected CDs or DVDs. Retrospect Express lets Mac users take full advantage of the 4.7GB of storage Slim-K2Xtreme has to offer. Users can schedule data backups, and create a bootable recovery disc to use in case of host-drive failure.

The Slim-K2Xtreme is now available from PC Connection and MacConnection at an MSRP of $399.00.
