JVC, Ltd will release DVD-RW media, "VD-W47H", corresponding to 6X writing speed at the beginning of December. The media will sell for around 1,000 yen.

The DVD-RW media for data is based on the "DVD-RW Version 1.2 Option specifications, 6 X-speed DVD-RW Revision 3.0 (DVD-RW Ver.1.2/6X)" standard. The VD-W47H media is the first DVD-RW media for 6X recording. It achieves 6X recording by utilising the newly developed high-speed crystallization record film, "HS-JPC6X." Stable Jitter characteristics are achieved through the optimal setup of an initial crystallization level.

Reliability and stability are improved through the newly developed disk process "Advanced JIPS6X." Moreover, original U character type slot fabrication technology is also referred to as having been refined for 6X compatibility, having become more stable.
