JSAUX HB0100 and HB1101 Steam Deck Accessories
1. HB0100
The JSAUX Modcase (PC0104) is a nice total protection package that also adds interesting solutions for mounting external accessories, like an external SSD case or even an 11-in-one dock station. Today we will test both of those accessories that for sure add more value and performance to the SteamDeck platform.
The HB0100 is an external M2230/2242/2260/2280 external NVME enclosure that can be mounted to the Modcase with the included rubber band. Users can order the M2 Slot kit with the Modcase for $39.99 (including the Modcase package). For now, the M2 kit isn't being sold alone.
The retail package of the M2 NVME SSD Enclosure adapter is small.
At the back you will find some information about the specs, it says that it supports SATA/NVME with 2230/2242/2260, and 2280 dimensions. The maximum supported capacity is up to 2TB and needs a 5V operating voltage (Type C connection).
Inside the package, you will find a printed user guide, thermal pads, plastic holders for the NVME, and a type C to TypeC/A cable.
The case itself is small, very light, and it's made out of aluminum. It has grey colour.
At the back, you will find a plastic button and after pressing it you can extract the SATA/NVME tray. This external enclosure is toolless.
This is what the included tray looks like. The main material is plastic and has four holes to use with corresponding NVMEs (2230/2242/2260/2280 lengths).
By using the included plastic holders you will secure the NVME in the box.
Here is what it looks like after installing a 2880 NVME drive.
The included cable is long enough for everyday use, however, we feel that only with the steam deck it should have been shorted and more flexible at its ends.
To secure it at the modcase you need to install it vertically and by the opening of the rubber band, you will in stall the included TypeC cable.
As we mentioned earlier that included cable is long enough, but we feel should be shorter.
The external enclosure supports up to 10Gbps TypeC connection, that theoretically can max out at 1.25GB/sec real speed. Does this product deliver its promises? We can say it does. Connecting the enclosure with the Asus X570E-Gaming motherboard and its included TypeC port, we used two benchmarks and we reached around 932 MB/sec writing and around 719m/sb reading.
With the ATTO Disk Benchmark, performance is higher

The JSAUX HB0100 is a nice addition for users who wish to have an additional NVME at the back of the SteamDeck with many more games at a low cost with also low weight. You cannot go wrong with this external enclosure, style, performance is there at great price.
