CDRinfo's Report on CeBIT

CDRinfo's Report on CeBIT

Enterprise & IT Mar 20,2006 0

CDRinfo presents its exclusive report on the CeBIT 2006 exhibition in Hannover, the world's biggest high-tech fair, that wrapped up on Wednesday. CeBIT 2006 was held under the "Digital Solutions for Work & Life" banner. Organizers said about 450,000 people attended the seven-day event in the northern German city of Hanover this year, some 25,000 fewer than in 2005, which they attributed to unseasonably cold weather.

About one-third of the visitors came from abroad, with a major boost of about 30 percent seen among guests from North America. The show traditionally attracts sector professionals rather than average consumers.

Deutsche Messe AG has organized CeBIT in Hannover each spring since 1986. Over 6,200 exhibitors from around 70 countries and some 480,000 visitors from all over the world attended the last CeBIT in 2005. CeBIT 2006 was be held under the "Digital Solutions for Work & Life" banner.

The CeBIT 2006 reporting a significant drop in attendance but brisk business for exhibitors. Indeed, exhibitors reported about 20 percent more contracts signed at the fair compared to last year's tally.
