addlink's S95 8TB SSD Achieves Impressive 28GB/s Speed in 32TB NVMe RAID Array

PC components Apr 10,2023 0

addlink has announced that its S95 8TB Gen4x4 SSD has achieved an impressive sequential read speed of 28GB/s in a 32TB NVMe RAID array. This array was tested on an AMD Threadripper workstation using four addlink 8TB SSDs with an MSI M.2 XPANDER-AERO RIAD card on an MSI TRX40 Creator motherboard. The addlink S95 is a Gen 4x4 NVMe 1.4 SSD that features TLC 3D NAND technology. It delivers exceptional read speeds of up to 7GB/s that are more than 14 times faster than SATA SSDs and at least two times faster than Gen 3 NVMe SSDs. Moreover, the S95 SSD offers impressive endurance, with 2800TBW for the 4TB version and 5600TBW for the 8TB version.

To achieve these impressive results, the reviewer used SoftRAID from OWC to stripe the array to RAID 0, optimized for workstation, with a stripe size of 512 KB, providing a total usable storage space of 29.1 TB. The reviewer also used various benchmarks and tools, including ATTO Disk Benchmark and CrystaldiskMark, to test the array's performance. In ATTO Disk Benchmark, the reviewer measured 17.1 GB/s sequential write speed and 27.88GB/s sequential read speed, while in CrystaldiskMark, the measured read speed reached an impressive 28.1 GB/s.

The addlink S95 NVMe RAID array is not only incredibly fast and high-performing, but it's also easy to use and set up. It is compatible with various operating systems, including Mac, Windows, and Linux, making it an ideal choice for digital content creators, 3D modeling technicians, software engineers, and data scientists who work with large files, such as video/audio editing, 3D modeling, software development, financial/scientific modeling. Additionally, the addlink S95 NVMe RAID array is an excellent choice for enthusiasts looking to boost their system's performance.

In conclusion, the addlink S95 8TB SSD is an impressive addition to any workstation or system, providing outstanding performance that surpasses even the most demanding requirements. With its advanced Gen 4x4 NVMe technology, the S95 SSD is an excellent investment for those who want to enhance their creative workflow or improve their system's overall performance.
