KIOXIA Expands EXCERIA G3 SSD Series

KIOXIA Expands EXCERIA G3 SSD Series

PC components Jun 16,2026 0

KIOXIA has announced a new 4TB model in its EXCERIA G3 SSD Series, expanding its range of PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs for consumers, gamers, and PC builders. The new EXCERIA G3 4TB model is one of the world’s first[2] PCIe 5.0 SSD that uses quadruple-level cell (QLC) NAND based on the company’s eighth-generation BiCS FLASH™ 3D flash memory technology, and that is directly available to end consumers. This addition strengthens KIOXIA’s PCIe 5.0 SSD portfolio by introducing a high-capacity, cost-efficient storage solution designed for mainstream desktop and laptop users.

High-capacity PCIe 5.0 SSD for modern workloads
The PCIe 5.0 SSD with BiCS FLASH™ QLC combines next-generation performance with large and powerful storage, which aims to make high-speed computing more suitable to a wider range of users. As applications, game libraries, and creative files continue to increase in size, users are actively searching for high-capacity NVMe SSDs that balance performance and affordability. By leveraging BiCS FLASH™ QLC technology, KIOXIA enables higher storage density, helping reduce cost per terabyte while maintaining strong performance. This makes the EXCERIA G3 SSD 4TB an attractive option for users comparing PCIe 5.0 SSDs based on price, capacity, and real-world performance.

Performance for gaming, content creation, and everyday use
Designed for high-performance PC builds and upgrades, the EXCERIA G3 SSD 4TB delivers sequential read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 9,600 MB/s[3]. These speeds support faster game loading times, improved system responsiveness, and efficient handling of large files. For gamers, this means quicker access to expansive game libraries and smoother gameplay experiences. For content creators and professionals, the drive provides the bandwidth needed for high-resolution video editing, large asset management, and multitasking workflows.

“With the new 4TB EXCERIA G3 SSD model, KIOXIA is helping bring high-capacity PCIe 5.0 storage to a wider range of PC users,” Roland Knippertz, Senior Manager B2C Sales & Marketing at KIOXIA Europe GmbH. “Gamers, creators and PC builders increasingly need more storage space, but they also want performance, reliability and value. The EXCERIA G3 SSD Series reflects KIOXIA’s commitment to making advanced flash memory technology more accessible for everyday computing and gaming.”

Efficient, scalable storage with BiCS FLASH™ QLC
The use of BiCS FLASH™ QLC memory enables greater capacity in a compact form factor. As energy consumption as such and in general becomes an increasingly important consideration in PC component selection, the EXCERIA G3 series is designed to deliver a balanced combination of performance, reliability, and efficiency in daily use scenarios. This makes the 4TB model well-suited for users building or upgrading systems with long-term value in mind.

Shipments of the EXCERIA G3 SSD 4TB model to distributors and retailers are scheduled to start from June onwards.[4]

Notes

1: Definition of capacity: KIOXIA defines a megabyte (MB) as 1,000,000 bytes, a gigabyte (GB) as 1,000,000,000 bytes and a terabyte (TB) as 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. A computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of 2 for the definition of 1GB = 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity (including examples of various media files) will vary based on file size, formatting, settings, software and operating system, and/or pre-installed software applications, or media content. Actual formatted capacity may vary.

2: Source: KIOXIA Corporation. As per the date of this press release

3: Read and write speed may vary depending on various factors such as host devices, software (drivers, OS etc.), and read/write conditions.

4: The release schedule may vary by country and region.
