Nokia today announced a new member to its E Series of business-oriented devices. The Nokia E51 will be a slim, S60 smartphone with 3G and Wi-Fi. It will have a tablet shape that's less than half an inch thick, but offer high-end features, like 3G and Wi-Fi. This model will include a 2-inch, QVGA display.

The E51 will run Symbian/S60, and include 130 MB of internal storage. It will also include a microSD slot, allowing cards with up to 4 GB of capacity to be hot swapped.

This smartphone will sport a variety of messaging options, including POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP, and offer support for a wide variety of third-party solutions including: Mail for Exchange, Visto Mobile, and Seven Always-on. It will come with viewers for a variety of attachment types. Users will be able to exchange instant messages with Yahoo, AOL, OMA 1.2, and MSN clients.

For entertainment, it will offer an FM radio, as well as music and video players.

A 2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth will also be included.

The E51 will be a quad-band GSM phone with dual-band WCDMA, allowing it to be used around the world. And Nokia says this model will be globally available during the fourth quarter of this year.

It will sell for approximately 350 EUR without a carrier subsidy.

More information is available on Nokia's web site.
