Users can find the US75 1TB NVME SSD drive at the online Silicon Power USA store at $80.99 (SKU: SP01KGBP44US7505), the 2TB version costs almost double the cash at $134.99 and the highest capacity (4T) comes at $239.99. The product comes in a small carton box that needs to be cut in order to remove it.

The US75 series has the typical M2280 dimensions (22.0mm x 80.0mm x 3.6mm), low weight (8gr), and a single-side NVME. At the front, you will find the product sticker with model number, capacity, and several other logos, while at the back only a small sticker with a QR code.

Removing the stop sticker, we can get an idea of the product's main processors and used memory chipsets. The US75 is based upon Phison Controller PS5027-E27-61 that includes

  • PCIe Gen4x4
  • TSMC 12nm process
  • DRAM-less
  • 4-channel with 16CEs
  • Capacity up to 8TB
  • 3D TLC / QLC supported
  • Single CPU Architecture
  • Phison 5th Gen LDPC + RAID ECC
  • AES256 / TCG Opal / Pyrite
  • Form Factor : M.2 2280

There is a small chip next to the main control identified as Phison PS6121-45. It is a PMIC power management chip. The flash NAND modules are labeled with the model number T27HGA5A1V, we couldn't find information about the manufacturer. The US75 series supports HMB (Host Memory Buffer) technology and an intelligent SLC storage strategy, which means it uses the host main memory as cache memory reducing power consumption and production cost.

Installing the product doesn't take much effort, just get the product and plug it into a free NVME slot. The CrystalDiskInfo software gave us the first information, the used firmware was ERFM11.0, and the drive works at PCIe 4.0 x4 mode.

By default, the drive has Write Caching enabled under Windows 11

Silicon Power has its own firmware updater software, no newer firmware was available by the time of writing this review

Silicon Power has its own SP Toolbox software (under downloads at the official website) that gives us further device info and health % left.

For our tests, we formatted the drive with NFTS format and users can expect around 953GB of free data.
