Samsung, LG Electronics Cut TV Prices for Black Friday

Samsung, LG Electronics Cut TV Prices for Black Friday

Consumer Electronics Nov 20,2017 0

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are trying to attract more consumers this Black Friday season by offering discounts for the QLED TVs and OLED TVs, respectively.

Samsung Electronics is planning to popularize QLED TVs with its low-end model, while LG Electronics has significantly lowered the price of its OLED TV to narrow the price difference with LCD TVs.

Samsung Electronics has started its promotional event for Black Friday through its official website in North America. The company sells its 49-inch Class Q6F QLED 4K TV for US$999 - US$300 less than the US$1,299 regular price. The Q6F is Samsung Electronics' new low-end QLED model.

Samsung introduced its three QLED TV lineups - Q7, Q8 and Q9 - in the first half of this year. The Q6 is a strategic product line that has lower prices than the previous series to advance the popularization of QLED TVs.

Consumers can also buy a Samsung 65-inch MU8000 UHD 4K TV for US$1,299 and save US$900, and 55-inch Q8C Curved QLED TV for US$2,199 and save US$$1,300.

LG Electronics on Sunday started been selling its OLED TVs on sale. The company has lowered the price of its OLED TVs by about $900-1,000, narrowing the price difference with Samsung's premium LCD TVs.

LG Electronics is selling its 55-inch and 65-inch B7A models for US$1,499 and US$2,299, respectively, during the period of 19-27th of November. The price has been lowered by US$800 and US$1,000, respectively. The company will also sell its 55-inch and 65-inch C7 models for US$1,699 and US$2,699, respectively.
