CyberLink announced today that CyberLink PowerDVD has been verified by the Sony Verification Center to support playback of rewritable Blu-ray Discs BD-RE 3.0 (BDMV format on BD-RE). This allows users to play the BDMV content they have authored on rewritable Blu-ray Discs, and navigate the interactive menus of the Blu-ray Disc format. PowerDVD has already been certified for BD-ROM Profile 1.0, BD+, AVCHD, and HD DVD.

PowerDVD offers playback of high-definition HD DVD, and Blu-ray Disc movies, supports Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD technologies and it is optimized for playing high-definition video content using graphics cards featuring NVIDIA PureVideo, ATI Avivo, and Intel Clear Video technology. In addition, Picture-in-Picture movie mode, networking, interactive BD-J and iHD, bookmarks, and advanced disc navigation are supported by the software.

PowerDVD Ultra with certified for BD-RE 3.0 will be available online in mid November in 9-languages at CyberLink's website, priced at $99.95.
