Plextor today announced the release of the PX-L890SA, the company's new 24X DVD writer. The PX-L890SA is an internal DVD RW developed for high quality DVD and CD burning. It has been designed with a rigid chassis and multiple dampers to absorb vibrations ensuring recording quality and stability, even at maximum 24X. Specially designed airflow paths cool the motor and other heat producing components extending the operational life of the drive.

The drive is bundled with NERO 9 Essentials Software and Plextors own PlexUtilities and also incorporates LightScribe direct disc labeling. Professional Software Package, PlexUtilities and LightScribe. can be used for inspection of user written media and quality measurement of pressed discs. Teh software offers five disc quality tests: BLER error rate test, burn/read test, TE/FE test, JITTER test, and disc surface integrity test.

The PX-L890SA is available in Europe from November for an estimated price of €49.99.
