Writing Quality Tests - C1 / C2 Error Measurements

We measured the C1 / C2 error rate on the recorded discs we burned at the various supported writing speeds. The software we used was PleXTools Professional v2.15, and particularly the built-in Q-Check utility. The reader was the Plextor PX-712SA (firmware v1.03).

- Summary

The C1/C2 graphs show that the LG drive will perform well with some and very badly with other media. As we have seen before, the best writing times come with Verbatim and BenQ media, while the best recording performance with Taiyo Yuden media. With TraxData and Maxell media, we noticed high C2 and even CU errors. LG should address and fix this.
