Taiwanese handset maker HTC's first wearable device will be reportedly released early 2015 and will take the form of a wristband, according reports.
A HTC spokesperson was quoted by VentureBeat as saying that "the new wearable will be very different from anything currently on the market."
HTC' plans known so far included the release of a smartwatch by the year-end holiday season. But the smartwatch project has reportedly been delayed due to competition from Apple and other makers using Google's Android Wear platform.
HTC declined to comment on "rumors or speculation."
