Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has sent out invitations to media outlets for an event prior to the March 2-5 Mobile World Congress (MWC) fair to be held in Barcelona, Spain. The invitation features a starry sky with the words "Utopia in progress" below HTC's logo. And of course, it sparked rumors about the introduction of a new flagship device, the successor of the HTC One M8.

Rumors have the new "Hima" device to have a 5-inch quad-HD screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, Dolby 5.1 audio technology, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, a 13-megapixel HTC UltraPixel front camera and a 3,500mAh battery.

But HTC is also expected to announce a smartwatch, which is said to link with Under Armour's fitness service, building on a partnership announced earlier this month.
