First 4x Blu-ray Burner Hit the Shelves in Taiwan

The Taiwan subsidiary of LG Electronics announced on the launch of the its 4x GBW-H10N Blu-ray Disc burner in the Taiwan market. The device will be in stores later this week at a recommended retail price of NT$29,900 (US$923). The ATAPI burner supports 4x recording for BD-R and 2x for BD-RE. The drive is also capable of recording on DVD-RAM media at 5x. The DVD-R/+R DL media is also supported by the drive.

The model can also record and play back video in BD/DVD/CD formats.

Staying with LG, the Korean company is also planning to release its first 18x DVD burner - named GSA-H22N - in Europe later this month. The company has also changed its early plans to release the GSA-H30N (S-ATA) and the GSA-H10L (ATAPI) Super Multi DVD burners with 12x DVD-RAM recording (RAM2) and DL 10x/16x DVD burners overseas (outside Korea).
